Mosby's Exam Review for Computed Tomography 3rd Edition

I passed my test today with a 90%. I bought this book and read it once. I spent 6 hrs reading the last Section which is the physics section so I can grasp the physics concept. After I finished reading the book I did the online questions And then did the 3 tests from the back of the book once I felt like I know the material. it's critical that you read why you got your answers right and why you got them wrong so you can understand the material. The registry has a lot of physics and anatomy questions, so know your anatomy too!

This book was helpful. I did the MIC program first and then I skimmed through this book the week before my registry. I did some of the practice questions in the back .. I made an 84 on the CT registry. Probably would have scored higher if I read through this book in more detail, but didn’t have much time. I think this review book was good to have, from what I did read. Some similar questions on the registry.

I never write reviews, but I felt like I had to for this book if it could help someone else! I just took my registry Dec. 15th 2018 and passed with a 87! I read this book about 3 times and took all of the tests in the back of the book. The test in the back were very similar to my actual test! I did have a few other additional resources such as MIC and the CT anatomy App to help with more cross sectional anatomy! But this book was my main tool two months before my test!

This review book really helped me study for and pass my CT registry. The online questions were a great tool to quiz myself, and they gave explanations as to why the answers are right or wrong. At first, my access code didn’t work for the online portion, so I contacted Elsevier (the website where you access the online portion) and after showing my receipt of purchasing this book, they gave me an access code that worked! I just wanted to mention that, as I have seen many reviews where the access codes don’t work.

I took the NMTCB (CT) exam on 5/16/2020 using strictly this book, w-radiology.com for anatomy plus the CT anatomy app from the Apple store. I read the book which felt like a dozen times and took the exams in the back a couple times until I understood my answers and what the questions were asking fully. I did use the online question review that was included with the purchase of the book. I believe studying strictly from this book will help you understand everything, but I wouldn’t rule out other material either, a lot of people used MIC cross trainer review but I did not. Good luck!
